The week of June 30th thru July 3rd stake action is headlined by the Zweig Memorial card at Vernon Downs on July 3rd featuring the Zweig Memorial for 3 Year Old Open Trotters goin for an estimated purse of $300,000. The card also features the Zweig Memorial for 3 Year Old Trotting Fillies goin for an estimated purse of $125,000 the card will be drawn on Monday June 30th.
June 30th we start the week off with stake action at Pocono Downs and Ocean Downs with Pennsylvania All-Stars and Maryland Sire Stakes. We start the week off at Pocono Downs with four divisions of the Pennsylvania All-Stars for 2 Year Old Trotting Colts & Geldings for a purse of $30,000 each. We then head south to Ocean Downs for Maryland Sire Stakes action with one division of the 3 Year Old Trotting Colts & Geldings goin for a purse of $10,000, followed by two division of the 3 Year Old Pacing Colts & Geldings goin for a purse of $10,000 each.
July 1st is a stake free day from there we move to July 2nd for stake action from four different tracks including The Meadows, Buffalo Raceway, Ocean Downs, and Bangor Raceway. We start the day and month of July off at The Meadows for Pennsylvania Stallion and Pennsylvania Sire Stakes. We start the card off with four divisions of the Pennsylvania Stallion Series for 2 Year Old Trotting Fillies goin for a purse of $20,000 each, followed by the Meadow Gladys Pennsylvania Sire Stakes for 2 Year Old Trotting Fillies sending out a division for a purse of $39,984 and two divisions for a purse of $40,384. From there we head to Buffalo Raceway for the New York Excelsior Series and New York Sire Stakes for 2 Year Old Trotting Fillies. The day starts off with one division of the New York Excelsior Series for 2 Year Old Trotting Fillies for a purse of $20,000, followed by one division of the New York Sire Stakes for 2 Year Old Trotting Fillies for a purse of $110,200. Next on the docket we head to Bangor Raceway for two divisions of the Maine Sire Stakes for 3 Year Old Pacing Fillies goin for a purse of $11,927 and $11,926. We end the day of stake action at Ocean Downs for Maryland Sire Stakes featuring one division of the Maryland Sire Stakes for 3 Year Old Trotting Fillies for a purse of $10,000, followed by two divisions of the Maryland Sire Stakes for 3 Year Old Pacing Fillies for a purse of $10,000 each.
July 3rd we see stake action at Running Aces and the aforementioned stake filled card at Vernon Downs. Running Aces sends out Minnesota Sire Stakes action with one division of the Minnesota Sired 3 Year Old Pacing Fillies Class A for a purse of $17,000 and one division of the Minnesota Sired 3 Year Old Trotting Fillies Class A for a purse of $17,000. Vernon Downs will be a card staked with stake action being drawn on Monday June 30th featuring the Zweig Memorial for 3 Year Old Open Trotters for a estimated purse of $300,000, the Zweig Memorial for 3 Year Old Trotting Fillies for a estimated purse of $125,000. The card also includes New York Excelsior Series and New York Sire Stakes for 2 Year Old Pacing Fillies. Thus leading us into The Meadowlands Pace Elimination weekend and moving us every closer to the Hambo.
