An action packed week of stake races took place over the week spanning the 2 year old ranks through the 4 year old finals at Oak Grove. The week started us off with 2 year old New York Sire Stakes action at Saratoga Harness. Saratoga sent three divisions of the New York Sire Stakes Excelsior Series 2 year old colts and geldings trotters to the track accompanied by two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes 2 yea old colts and geldings trotters. The NYSS action let us see two young pupils come out of the Ake Svanstedt Stable take their first stake wins as Ake swept the NYSS action. In the first division we saw Gangsta Talk win in 1:58.4 final quarter in :29.3 and in the second division we saw Mr Mouton win in 1:57.3 final quarter :29.2 both driven and trained by Ake Svanstedt.
Oak Grove sent out a massive card of 14 stake races on the day for 2 and 3 year old pacers and trotters. We saw the Kentucky Sire Stakes for 3 Year Old filly trotters take the track in three divisions. The first division we saw Tove Palema win her division in 1:55 last quarter :28.1 for Team Orange Crush driven by Andy and trained by Julie Miller. The second division saw Youhadmeathalo tie the track record in a 1:53 mile flying home in :27.3 for driver Marvin Luna and trainer Dewayne Minor. The final division saw Woman Of Passion win in a fast 1:53.1 mile final panel of :28 for driver David Miller and trainer Carter Pinske. Next the Kentucky Sire Stakes 3 Year Old colts and geldings trotters take the track in two divisions. Lindy's Coyotito took the first division in 1:53.3 final quarter :28.2 giving Team Orange Crush a double on the card again driven by Andy and trained by Julie Miller. In the second division we saw Crown Monarch win in 1:54.1 final quarter :29 for driver Andrew McCarthy and trainer Per Englom. Next up we got to see three divisions of the Kentucky Sire Stakes 3 Year Old colts and geldings pace get contested. In the first division we saw Arson fly down the lane to win in 1:50.4 final quarter :27.1 for driver Scott Zero and trainer Eric Catalan. The second division saw Total Stranger win in 1:52 final quarter :27.1 for driver Yannick Gingras and trainer Nancy Takter as Gingras stole all the fractions in the first three quarter markers. The last division saw Better Is Nice win in 1:50 final quarter :27 for driver Andrew McCarthy and trainer Tony Alagna. Next we focus our attention to the freshman performers with one division of the Kentucky Sire Stakes 2 Year Old colts and geldings pacers. Realmeanwearblu went out for driver Yannick Gingras and trainer Nancy Tatker to win in 1:54.2 last quarter in :27.2 giving the Takter Stable a double on the day. We saw two divisions of the Kentucky Sire Stakes 2 Year Old filly trotters take to the track. The first division we saw Yo Tillie win in 1:57.1 final quarter :29 for trainer and driver Verlin Yoder. In the second division we saw the hot hand of Yannick Gingras steer Stacking Green to a 1:56.2 mile final quarter :28.3 for trainer Todd Luther. The Kentucky Sire Stakes 2 Year Old filly pace saw one division take to the track with Skywalker Sea win in a impressive 1:53 final panel of :28.1 for driver Yannick Gingras and trainer Todd Luther giving Gingras four wins in the 2 Year Old Stakes on the card and giving Luther a double. Finally on this action packed card we saw two divisions of the Kentucky Sire Stakes for 2 Year Old colts and geldings trotters. In the first division we saw World By Storm win in 1:55.4 final quarter of :28 for driver Brandon Bates and trainer Mike Hollenback. In the second division we saw Goo Goo Gone win in 1:58 final quarter of :29.1 for driver Andrew McCarthy and trainer Chris Beaver giving Andrew a driving triple.
Tuesdays action left us at Oak Grove for another big day of racing sending out four 4 Year Old finals for $150,000. The first Kentucky Sire Stakes Finals started off with Kentucky Sire Stakes 4 Year Old Mare Pace Final goin to Strong Poison in 1:49.4 final quarter :28 for driver Yannick Gingras and trainer Virgil Morgan Jr. The next division saw the fasted mile ever at Oak Grove in the Kentucky Sire Stakes 4 Year Old horses and geldings pace final from Admiral Hill in 1:48 final quarter of :27 coming a back half of :53.1 for driver Yannick Gingras and trainer Per Engblom. The next final we saw Kentucky Sire Stake 4 Year Old horses and geldings trot go to Once In A Lifetime in 1:52 final quarter :27.3 for trainer Todd McCarthy and trainer John Campbell. The last final on the day was the Kentucky Sire Stakes 4 Year Old mare trot where we got to see Raliee Something get revenge on her foes winning in 1:52.1 last quarter :28.2 for driver Andrew McCarthy and trainer Roger Cullipher. The card also saw three divisions of the Kentucky Sire Stakes 3 Year Old fillies pacers take to the track. In the first division we saw Defining Moment win in 1:50.3 last quarter :29 for driver David Miller and trainer Ron Burke. The second division we saw Viki Hill win in 1:51 final panel :27.3 for the Dexter Dunn and Chris Ryder connection. In the final division we saw Direction win in 1:51.2 final quarter in :27.4 for driver Todd McCarthy and trainer Brett Pelling.
Running Aces sent out their 2 Year Olds in three divisions one for 2 Year Old trotters, one for 2 Year Old filly pacers, and one for 2 Year Old colts and geldings pacers. The Minnesota Sired 2 Year Old Trotters took to the gate where we saw International Ice win in 2:02.3 final quarter :29.3 for driver Lemoyne Svendsen and trainer Edwin Quevedo. The next division we saw Minnesota Sired 2 Year Old filly pacers take to the track with Delcon Kathleen win her division in 1:57.3 final quarter :28.3 for driver Todd Waren and trainer Justin Anfinson. The last stake race of the day saw Swinging On By take the Minnesota 2 Year Old colts and geldings pace in 1:58 final quarter :29.2 for driver Dean Magee and trainer Brett Ballinger.
Tuesday we saw Yonkers Raceway send out 2 Year Old filly trotters in New York Sire Stakes with two divisions of NYSS and two divisions of the Excelsior Series. In the first division of the New York Sire Stakes for 2 Year Old filly trot we saw Calculus Risk win in 2:00.1 final quarter :29.3 for driver Jordan Stratton and trainer Perry Simser. The second division we saw Chapvious win in 1:58 final quarter :27.4 for driver Jason Bartlett and trainer George Ducharme.
Hoosier Park sent out one division of the Indiana Sire Stakes Eligible 3 Year Old filly trotters and one division of the Indiana Sire Stake 3 Year Old filly trotters. The INSS division we saw Agent Of Fortune win in 1:55.1 final quarter of :28 for trainer driver Robert Taylor.
Wednesday we turned our attention to Buffalo Raceway with 3 Year Old trotting action. We saw two divisions of the Excelsior Series for 3 Year Old colts and geldings trotter and two for the 3 Year old filly trotters. The card was headlined by the $117,700 3 Year Old fillies trot and the $119,800 3 Year Old colts and geldings trot. In the NYSS 3 Year Old filly trot we saw Sister Mary Maude win in 1:57.4 final quarter :28.1 for driver Ronnie Wrenn Jr and trainer Ron Burke. The NYSS 3 Year Old colts and geldings trot we saw Super Duper Cooper win in 1:57.4 final quarter :28 for driver Jason Bartlett and trainer John Butenschoen.
Thursday's action took us back to Yonkers Raceway for New York Sire Stakes for 2 Year Old colts and geldings pacers. We saw two divisions of the New York Excelsior Series and two divisions of the NYSS. In the first division of the NYSS 2 Year Old colts and geldings pace we saw Fast Choice win in 1:54.3 final quarter :28.1 for driver Scott Zeron and trainer Jared Bako. In the second division we saw Thirsty Thursday win in 1:55.3 and final quarter :29 for driver Matt Kakaley and trainer Hunter Oaks.
We turned our attention to Hoosier Park were they sent out two divisions of the Indiana Sire Stakes for 3 Year Old colts and geldings trot. In the first division we saw Gruesome Twosome do what he does best stalk and fly down the lane to win in 1:55.1 last quarter :26.1 for trainer and driver Daryl Bontrager. The second division saw Dashing Danny win in 1:53.4 final quarter :27.1 for driver Kyle Wilfong and trainer Jeff Cullipher.
Running Aces sent out their 3 Year Old Minnesota sired pacers. We saw El Parrandero Q win the Minnesota 3 Year Old colts and geldings pace in 1:54.3 for driver Jacob Cutting and trainer Edwin Quevedo. The 3 Year Old filly pacers saw Deja Vu Babyboo pop the pocket and upset winner her division in 1:54.3 final quarter :28.1 for driver Nick Roland and trainer Robert Lems.
Woodbine finished off a loaded week of action with two Tompkins-Geers and some OSS Gold action. We saw the Tompkins-Geers 2 Year Old filly pacers take to the track with Wicked N Single win in 1:54.3 final quarter :27 for driver James MacDonald and trainer Anthony Beaton. The Tompkins-Geers 2 Year Old filly trotters came to the track next where we saw Incantation win in 1:57.3 last quarter :27.2 for driver Sylvain Filion and trainer Robert Mcintosh. Ontario Sire Stake Gold action headlined the card sending out two divisions for $95,000 CDN each where we saw Myretirementdream win the first division in 1:54.1 final quarter :28 for driver Jody Jamieson and trainer Eli Wagler. The second division went to Northern Looker in 1:54 final quarter :27.4 for Trevor Henry and trainer Camilla Christoforou.
